First of all, check out this great pink haired lady from PatriX on Flickr. It is from her Berlin set. So I assume that it is somewhere in Berlin. I have no idea who the artist is. Anyway, I really like it. Second: Tomorrow is All Points West. Reagan and I are pretty pumped about … Continue reading Street Art Du Jour + APW→
Yesterday morning I walked past this really hot Keith Hernandez wheatpaste, stuck to a relay box on West Broadway. I really wanted to shoot it, so I brought my good camera today, and everything. Unfortunately, street art doesn’t last long in the FiDi, and it had already been removed by this morning. So, instead, I’m … Continue reading Wheat Paste o’ the day→
Ken Johnson of the New York Times seems to think so. So does Jordan at Public Ad Campaign. Johnson’s NYT article gives an overview of Fairey’s career and style of art, from Fairey’s days as a student, up through his current campaign for Saks Fifth Avenue. The article focuses on Fairey’s current exhibit in Boston … Continue reading Fairey Selling out?→
[“mobile canvas” taken at Park Pl. & West Broadway] Is it just me, or are in instances of unchecked graffiti on the rise in NYC? I haven’t been able to find any data on the issue, other than statistics showing the petty crime is on the rise. But just going off of my personal observation, … Continue reading Graffiti becoming more abundant?→
I had to re-post this shot that was featured on Wooster today. The artist is l.e.t.. It is a paste up stencil. What is equally cool, is that when you make l.e.t. stencil paste on poster into an acronym, it= “letspop.” Which is hot.
Shepard Fairey is back at it, producing artwork for a “good cause.” The image to the left, is for a World Wildlife Foundation campaign to get everyone to turn out their lights for an hour on March 28th. Lets hope that Shep doesn’t get in any trouble for this one. He has been going through … Continue reading Fairey “Earth Hour” Poster→
[photo by trevor Little] -I missed out on the Red Bull Snowscraper event yesterday/last night. I don’t feel too bad about it, since it was way too cold to be standing around outside for a long period of time (and I was working, kind of late). There is a rumor that it is going to … Continue reading Amplify Love→
Who else thinks that the new Gmail customizable themes are pretty awesome? Am I just easily amused? I thought it was so great when they released this new feature the other day. I, being a fan of street art, went straight for the graffiti wall background. I wanted to see the variations depending on which … Continue reading Love me some Google innovation→
I saw this on Animalnewyork today. Apparently someone thinks that having Sarah Palin in the White House is a frightening prospect. So much so, that they started a street art campaign. You can download your own printable copy, like the one below, from frightentingprospect. Poor Palin. First portrayed as a Moose murderer, now as a … Continue reading Palin Posters→
