[Photo via University of Utah Athletic Department] Yes, March madness is afoot. My team (Univ. of Utah) doesn’t play until tomorrow night. So I guess that I don’t really have a good excuse to take off work. I’m pretty excited about it though. U of U had a pretty good season, winning the MWC. I … Continue reading It’s that time of year→
I came across this by way of Animal. Is the idea pool really that shallow these days? What happened to the good old days, when the good ideas flowed like wine? Since the entire functionality of a freestyle deck requires it to be rigid and lightweight, the skateboard above has in effect been rendered useless. … Continue reading Worst Idea I have seen all week→
Growing up, skateboarding in the streets of SLC, being yelled at and chased by security guards and 5-0 was part of the sport. It was a part of the sport that was totally lame. Even worse than the perma-scabbed knees and elbows. It has been awesome to see how over the years, society’s perception of … Continue reading Skateboarding on Lower Level→
Reagan and I had a really great time at our race on Saturday morning. We were both fairly pleased with our times. The photo above is before the race, across the street from where we parked. The angle of the photo was not for artistic effect. It was because of the slope of our hood, … Continue reading NYRR 8000 Recap→
[after philly half marathon 2008] Tomorrow, Reagan and I will be running an 8k in central park. It is our first race of 2009, and only our 2nd or third that we are ever running together (weird, I know). I’m pretty excited about it. Some of our friends are going to be running it with … Continue reading Tomorrow = Our first 2009 Road Race→
[photo by motogp.com] I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t totally freaking excited for this year’s round of MotoGP action. The season hasn’t even started yet, and there has already been drama. Pedrosa, who took a nasty tumble during pre-season testing, underwent surgery last week, but is still shooting to open the … Continue reading ’09 Moto GP Officially Opens 1 Month From Today!→
This sign is the product of WTC construction on Vessey Street. Until I saw it, I was completely unaware that there were longboarders in FiDi. Notice the Sector 9 sticker in the bottom right hand corner. Nice. Maybe I can meet up with them some day after work and bomb the boardwalk, hahahaha.
I’m pretty sure that the message this sign is trying to convey, is that the use of Bicycles, Skateboards and Roller Blades, are not permitted beyond the sign. Then again, maybe not. That is a pretty strategically placed trash can. So theoretically, even if the sign means what it says, one could just discard their … Continue reading Truncated Message→
I got out of work pretty early last night and was able to crack the seal on my multiple month run-less streak. I did almost 7 miles. But to my dismay, my Nike Plus gadget was having all sorts of problems. I went on the website to try to troubleshoot it. I guess that other … Continue reading Sunrise and such→
