In spite of high hopes coming into the weekend, it turned out to be kind of a bust. Reagan and I weren’t feeling super well on Saturday morning, so we scrapped the plan to pick up Piper’s stuff in Jersey, and instead, headed straight to the hospital. By Saturday evening it was pretty apparent that … Continue reading Days like these put the gothic in Gotham→
Reagan covered it pretty well, in her blob, today. But, Piper has still not made any progress. In fact, we found out last night that she is actually doing a little bit worse. I won’t go into all of the gritty details. They did put her back on a paralytic, so that they could take … Continue reading Don’t read this, if you are easily bummed out→
It has been kind of a crazy week for us, already. In addition to being back at my real job, I have been running all over the place, to cover various fashion trade shows, after-parties, etc. I really enjoy it, though. I see a lot of cool stuff and meet a lot of cool people. … Continue reading Randomosities→
Piper is still doing pretty much exactly the same as she has been. There have been a few changes, though. Her doctors have taken her off of the paralytic, and are now just relying on the sedation, for when she starts to wake up and get stressed out. Apparently this has been accomplished pretty successfully, … Continue reading Piper still going even keel→
Make no mistake, these guys are weird. But, they are also pretty awesome. This week, we are swinging back to the NYC Electronica scene. Fischerspooner was formed by New Yorkers Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner. They got their start performing in the Starbucks at Astor Place. So, you know the’re good. Hahahahah. For real, though, … Continue reading La Musica Coolica #55 (Fischerspooner)→
No major changes to report, today. Her X-ray looks about the same. When I spoke to her night nurse tonight, though, she said that Piper sounded a little better. So hopefully that will be reflected in tomorrow’s X-ray. As can be seen in the photo above, she is looking better. Almost back to normal, puffy-wise. … Continue reading PJ: Doin’ the same→
There isn’t much to report from Sunday, on the Piper front. Her doctors decided that it was a good idea to put her back on a paralytic today, because that is the only effective way that they have discovered, so far, to keep her from de-saturating. When she starts to wake up, even a little … Continue reading A room with a view (of rain)→
Piper had a pretty uneventful day, Saturday. Being that she tends to become agitated and de-sat when she is awake, she was kept a bit more sedated. The doctors took another X-ray of her in the evening, which came back almost the same as it was Thursday. Although we would have liked to have had … Continue reading Nothing really new→
An echocardiogram (not sure if that is how it is spelled) revealed that pulmonary hypertension, which Piper has historically suffered from, is not playing a factor in what is going on currently. In other words, the results revealed nothing abnormal with her heart, that the doctor believed wasn’t being caused by her pneumonia. So, that … Continue reading No Pulmonary Hypertension→
^—-PJ all swollen up from her IVs, safe and sound back in NYC We were able to get Piper back to Columbia, on Thursday. She arrived around 12:30 or so. It wasn’t a very smooth ride over. She had some blockage in her trache, and was having some bronchial spasms. She was generally in bad … Continue reading PJ Update→
