Temos Neve

It seems like just yesterday, I was complaining about how is was so warm and rainy, so close to Christmas. Well, shut my mouth. My parents are in town this weekend (more about that later), and they brought one of those patented Utah snow storms with them. They arrived on Thursday night, and woke up to the white stuff on Friday morning.

Here is a picture of the car around 11 A.M.. There wasn’t really much accumulation at that point. But by the time that we got on the parkway, heading up to see Piper, there were already several disabled (rear wheel drive) vehicles littering the side of the roadway. We had a great visit with Piper, then decided that since we were in Westchester, we decided to hit Trader Joe’s etc..

I decided to roll the dice and take the Saw Mill Parkway, to get home. When we first got on, we didn’t see another tail light for about 5 miles. Then we ran into this…

They actually had that parkway closed for a while, and were forcing everyone to exit, right before a long hill that had been converted into a parking lot strewn with cars that couldn’t make it up the hill. By the time that we got close enough to the hill, that we could see what was going on, they had moved enough of the cars, to clear a single lane on the inside of the parkway, going up the will. Needless to say, Bebe had no problem cruising up the hill over the river and through the snow, all that. It took us about 3 hours from when we got on the parkway, to when we finally arrived at home.
