Hurricane and 9/11 Season

Over the weekend we were lambasted with the remnants of Tropical Storm Hannah. Yesterday, we got rain again, all day. If we are lucky, Hurricane Ike will hit us in time for another nasty rain filled weekend. I don’t really mind the rain, in and of itself. But the cooler temperatures that have been coming with it, have got me a little bit down. Even though it is totally sunny out today, it felt weird stepping outside into the barely over 60 degree weather this morning. Last night was the first night since the end of May that we haven’t used the A/C. I guess that it will be good for running and bike riding. Hopefully it will mitigate the sweaty swamp back that I get from my backpack when I ride to work. I actually plan on riding my bike to work tomorrow. If you have access to a calendar then you probably know that tomorrow is September 11th. This year every important political figure in the country is going to be about 50 yards from my building. So I’m guessing that public transportation is going to be a bit of a zoo. Plus, if we get blown up and I don’t die, I can get out of there quick! Hahahah. For real though, I’m a bit anxious to see how tomorrow’s events will affect my routine. It is crazy down here every year on the 11th, but this year, since all of the presidential candidates, the president and a former president are going to be down here, I think that things will be a little extra intense. Anyway, after all of the hooplah, Reagan’s sister is going to be in town tomorrow evening. She is stopping over, on her way to Egypt. So it should be a pretty action packed day tomorrow.
