On a roll

I didn’t really write much last weekend because I have been working on a new project for my extended family. My mom and my aunts are big time genealogy buffs. In fact, they have already published a few books. Anyway, I have been giving them a hand with a couple of genealogy websites. Since I’m chained to a desk for 5 days a week, I generally try to keep my computer time to a minimum on the weekend. So this weekend, pretty much all of my online time was dedicated to the project we are working on. It has been a lot fun. But nerd fun wasn’t the only kind that we had last weekend. Besides all of the football watching, Reagan and I took a trip to Long Island. We made an Ikea run, while we were out there. Reagan has been wanting to get a new tv stand for a while.

The one that we were using was pretty small, which meant that there were always wires sticking out from behind it. So we picked up a new one of those, as well as some other knick knacks. Afterward, of course, we had to pick up some burritos at Moe’s. The fun part about Ikea is always getting home and putting the stuff together. It is extra fun when the job involves audiovisual equipment. We were left with what looked like a pile of boondoggle on the floor after we moved the old one.

Monday morning, Reagan and I rode our bikes to our friend Taylor’s house and had band practice for the first time, since before Chris started studying for the bar. I was a little bit scared about how it would turn out, but it was really fun. Chris has been working on some new stuff that was really cool. I feel like his writing style had shifted a bit since he has been playing mostly electric. Chris also had an idea for a new name for the band: best summer ever. I think that it is kinda cool. What do you think?

The weather this weekend was also awesome. The picture at the top of this post was taken during our bike ride Monday morning. If you look at it full size, you can see the flag that they hung on the Jersey side archway of the tower, for the holiday.
