Labor Day weekend with Piper

by

We had some really great visits with Piper last weekend. One of the interesting things about only being able to visit her on the weekend, is that her progress is easily seen, when contrasted with the previous week. Last weekend was no different. She is getting a little bit bigger and stronger every time we see her. Her favorite thing to do these days, is to grab anything that you try to show her. She grabs it, then pulls it close for inspection. Reagan and I still crack up every time she does it. We show her pictures of herself on the camera and on our phones. She immediately locks on with her little paws, before carefully examining the photos.

Other good news, is that we received the package from medicaid. The timing was of course, another punch to the kidneys. I missed a backpacking trip in NH this weekend because I had to go to that hearing on Thursday. The hearing was a fallback, in case for some reason, the medicaid was not automatic after the approval of SSI. It ended up taking all afternoon. So I didn’t even bother going back into the office. I just went straight home and finished up the work that I had to do from there. When I walked into the lobby and checked the mail, I’m sure that you can guess what was in the mailbox. Oh well. I guess that it was worth not going backpacking, if nothing else, for the peace of mind. We are super glad to have the administrative side of things finally under control, so that we can focus on just hanging out with Piper.
