I have been completely off the grid busy, for the last couple of days. In a way, it was really nice. For me there are varying degrees of stress, related to work load. As unlikely as it sounds, I tend to me most stressed when I am only relatively busy. The reason for this is because I try to pack in so much peripheral stuff in the the schedule with the manageable amount of tasks that have to be done. Then I end up freaking out, trying to get everything done, even though I probably didn’t have time for it all. When I’m not buys at all, there is low stress, because I can spend all of my time on peripheral tasks, or not. When I’m slammed, it can get intense, but it is not the debilitating kind of stress. When I’m so actively engaged in a huge project of a couple of them, that all of the peripheral stuff has to be set aside, I kind of get into a zone. So there is the sort of boring observation I have made over the past couple of days.
Awesome things about the coming weekend:
- The weather is freaking phenomenal. The temperature is perfect, and the skies are blue. Pretty great contrast from the blah of yesterday. The photo above doesn’t really do it justice. Reagan has the camera today, so I had to resort to the cell phone for that shot. Even though I’m stuck inside on such a gorgeous day, it’s Friday, and I am happy enough knowing that Reagan will be able to take advantage of the great weather.
- Reagan’s sister and her husband are coming to visit for the weekend. This will be their first time meeting Piper (which is pretty exciting). Also, Reagan and I have a lot of fun hanging out with them. We had such a great time with Reagan’s family over Christmas, that we tossed around the idea of moving to ATL.
- In addition to having piper meet her aunt and uncle, Reagan and her sister have put together a pretty fun agenda for the weekend, including museums and live music. Solid!
- I’m buying some new running shoes today, and if I’m lucky, I will get to try them out this weekend.
