Weekend update

by

Reagan and I had a very eventful weekend. We had such an awesome visits with Piper. By the way, if you haven’t seen Reagan’s blob then you may not know that Piper is back on the regular servo ventilator, after her doctors discovered that she is recovering from a mild case of pneumonia. They said that it is nothing to get majorly worried about, but that it would be beneficial for her to have the added support of the big vent until she could fully recover. This will most likely, however, push back her discharge date. After our visit with Piper on Saturday (for Reagan the visit started on Friday), we made it back to NYC just in time to visit out friends the Stringhams and meet their brand new baby who was born on Friday. She is super cute. Afterward, we ate pizza and rice crispy treats. The rice crispy treats were provided by Hillary, who came over to join in the activities. We also watched I am Legend. I wouldn’t recommend it. The idea is kind of interesting, but was very poorly executed. Anyway, for those who have not seen it, it is kind of a thriller, with lots of parts that make you jump a little, or scream if you are a Hillary or Reagan. The funny part is that Reagan was so freaked out by it that I had to accompany her to every room in the house for the rest of the night. I had to talk her out of sleeping with the light on.

Sunday was great. We bolted right after church, so that we could see Piper before going to a meeting with some of the groups that I work with on the Helicopter Website. The visit with Piper was nice, but short. Getting back to Weehawken ended up being a little more intense that I had planned on. When we took the exit for Rt. 3, traffic was not even moving. I had to end up calling and telling them that we weren’t going to make it, after which I drove over the divider so that I could get back on the Jersey Turnpike going north. When we finally got home, Reagan cooked enchiladas (which were delicious) and we had some of our friends over for dinner and to watch motorcycle racing. Ok, so the motorcycle racing was peripheral, but I don’t think that anyone hated it too much.
