Up for grabs this round, is a pair of Skullcandy “Smokin’ Buds.” Although I think the name of this model is a bit kitschy, I think that Skullcandy makes some quality products. Whether audiophile or not, I feel like everyone can appreciate a quality sounding headphone. Although, I could be wrong.
Speaking of audiophiles– This giveaway just happens to coincide with the nascent beginnings of a new project that I’m pretty excited about (I can imagine Reagan groaning as she reads this). For those who might have had the occasion to read my little weekly LMC feature, it is no surprise that I’m pretty keen on music. I have a few friends who share this passion with me. One of them just happens to be Mr. Joe Varca. As it turns out, Wednesday night Joe and I were not only admiring the view of the City, we were also hatching a plan to take over the world via (yet another) music blog. “What is this blog you speak of?”, inquiring minds probably won’t ask. I just registered the domain yesterday. It is called “Ear full of gold.” There is yet much to do before any content will appear on the site. But, get amped. Joe’s brain is like IMDB and ASCAP all rolled into one.
Back to the buds: If you want ’em, write a comment about some music that you like. It doesn’t have to be your favorite. Heaven knows I have a hard time drilling down a favorite anything. So, maybe it is just something that you have been digging on lately. There aren’t really rules. I will try to choose a winner on Monday or Tuesday of next week. Bueno suerte.

I’m amped about the new blog! (Although I hope it doesn’t mean you’ve decided to forgo sleep entirely?)
Laird could use a new pair of buds, so I’m going to tell you about a lovely piece of music I can’t stop listening to: “High Ideals” by Elbow, from their album “build a rocket boys!” I think you’d love it too.
I could totally use some new headphones! Lately I’ve been rocking the Phoenix Pandora station while studying. Also my song of the day is “pumped up kicks” by Foster the People.
I love me some country! Something about the stories they tell through their music.
P.S. I love your wife! She’s an amazing Mom!
I am commenting for my son (23) who had collar bone surgery today and turned on the Elvis Channel on Satellite Radio on the way home from the Surgi-Center. Elvis????
I need these because I just signed up for my first half marathon and can’t use my husband’s earphones while he’s running in the same race! Regarding music, I’ll just say what I liked running to recently. Nirvana and RHCP. I’ve decided you don’t always need upbeat music when you run, you just need music that you like…well maybe not something slow, but you know what I mean.
lately I’ve been listening to noah and the whale, william fitzsimmons, lykke li and some other nameless bad pop. ps. your blog and reagan’s may have become a daily stop
I think Ryan would like these bad boys…
I’m kind of obsessed with The Head and The Heart. They have that perfect seattle folk sound.
I really love The Format…although they are no longer a band. I guess my favorite band right now is Jimmy Eat World. Or maybe The Killers.
I already won the totally rockin’ t-shirt so I am just commenting to be commenting!
I have been madly in love with The White Stripes lately. Jack White is getting me through a hard time in my life…thanks Jack! And the ever wonderful My Chemical Romance who is there for me through the good and bad 🙂
Those AWESOME! I’m also so excited for the blog. Like way, way excited! 🙂 Lately I’ve been listening to Jay-Z and Nine Inch Nails and TV On the Radio.
hmm, I meant to say those *are awesome! I was so excited I forgot words. hahaha
I am totally in love with Aloe Blacc right now. He has a video (Loving You)on his Facebook page that I can’t stop watching; was on Jimmy Fallon & killed it & I bought tickets for his show in Vancouver BC the day it was announced. I live in Seattle, it was between Portland & Vancouver. We decided to go for some international flair!!!
I just started liking a band called The Downtown Fiction. I downloaded their EP album from iTunes and enjoyed it for a couple of weeks. The other day, I Googled the band just to know a little more about them. Yeah, they’re all about 14. How embarrassing for me, huh? Honestly, Justin Bieber would fit right in with them. I guess I can’t like them anymore.
I could use an upgrade from the iphone originals. I love the Decemberists right now.
Well this is a giveaway I can really get behind! I need some new ear buds. I only ever use the ones that come with stuff – like my shuffle and iphone. And I need some new real ones.
So about music…..uh….I cannot talk intelligently about music. I like music and stuff. Lately I am listening to a lot of Sia and Robyn. (And Taylor Swift and Selina Gomez – but those are Lucy’s fault.)
I’ve been jamming out to some random but wonderful stuff lately like:
“Bizzare Love Triangle” by New Order
“I Just Don’t Think I’ll Get Over You” by Colin Hay.
The entire 21 album by Adele
and “Me, Myself, and I” by De La Soul.
I am also getting over the gnarliest ear infection of my life that lasted almost 6 weeks. So I’d be super stoked to stick something other than medicine in my ears. Too gross? Did I cross the line? hahaha
I’m digging Iron & Wine. I don’t understand why I’ve gone so long without someone informing me of the awesomeness that is Sam Beam.
Hot Dog, this is a popular post!
Gil Scott Heron & Jamie XX. The entire album but especially track 1 “Im new Here”
sweet.
My 8 nyear old son has been begging me to get him a pair of these. He takes after his mom and dad and loves classic rock. Right now his favorites are AC/DC and Ozzy. We are so proud.
I say rockabilly music is the most fun to go see in concert. The crazy throwback clothes and hair, the giant basses thumping out country-western punk…fun, fun times! Legendary Shack Shakers….check ’em!
My fav is and will always be Bob Marley. My hubs and I danced to him on our first date, danced to him at our wedding, both of our children were born while “three little birds” played in the background and skipping to present date… There is just something about having my 3 and 4 year old tell me, “momma, put on some marley so I can get my wiggles out”.
My two year is loving Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson’s duet “Don’t you want to stay.” He sings along to all the words with this little scrunched up face. He really gets into it…he’d be a great karaoke buddy for you and your wifey (except his bedtime is 8:00:(). I would love some new earbuds. I’m trying to get back into running shape after having twins 9 months ago. Yep we have three boys 2 and under. And have been married 3 years. I could really use a freebie!:)
I’m loving anything right now that will keep me moving. I’m the mom of 2 and training for my first 5K…with not so great stock earphones.
Also, please know that I am praying for you all about the pipster. God is good, and he will bring you through it. I know that SOMEONE will have an answer!
Not to brag or nothing, okay bragging, I suffered through AP Calculus with Jack Johnson. And years later he turned out to be one of my favorite musicians.
My skull would love some candy. Not that I get to listen to what I want around here, I have a 10 year old and an almost 10 year old who make most of the music selections around here. Luckily they think Justin Bieber is a dweebus!
