Happy St. Patrick’s Day + This week’s swag giveaway

Happy St. Pattrick’s Day! Isn’t the green Rolex awesome? I grabbed the image from Zhush because I thought it was so cool. Unfortunately, the Rolex is NOT the item that will be given away today. That would be one piece of swag that I would probably hang on to, especially so that I could wear it every year on St. Patrick’s day. Plus, I think it would be a little bit soon to be giving away another watch.

Instead of green, today’s item is actually pink. It is a pocket square by Jack Spade. It’s a part of their yet to be released Fall line. I feel like sometimes I can be kind of a fancy guy. But, I have never really worn a pocket square. In fact, I rarely even break out a full suit these days. But, for those who do take their GQ game to the next level, this giveaway is for you. Here is a link to the various fancy ways to rock a pocket square.

As fancy as they are, pocket squares at their naked roots, are just handkerchiefs. Handkerchiefs come in handy for things like blowing your nose and wiping condiments from your face/clothes.

Although, I would not recommend using this square for wiping rogue condiments, I thought it would be fun use the concept for this week’s contest. Whenever I eat wings, it seems like without fail, I end up with a little spot of bleu cheese dressing with a hint of wing sauce on my shirt or pants. What is the condiment or other food item that always seems to end up on your clothes? Put your answer in the comments and I’ll choose a winner (based on a method that I have yet to devise), on Monday or Tuesday. May the luck o’ the Irish be with ye!

  1. I spill my coffee on myself. But only when I’m wearing white.

My dad always has a handkerchief on him. He uses it to blow his nose. And when I was little he’d always pull it out to wipe my tears when I was crying. It was pretty sick – since I never knew if he had just used it to blow his nose or not.

  2. Every white t-shirt I have ever owned has a single drip of chocolate ice cream on it. Because I like white t-shirts, and I like chocolate ice cream cones.

(This is just a statement of fact, not a contest entry; I have no need for a pink pocket square.)

  3. i don’t really want to win this (i love pink, the spade family, and gentlemen, but there is certainly someone more deserving of a pocket square.)
but…it seems i am incapable of eating bread with olive oil (is there a formal name for this heavenly combination?) without ruining my clothes. but it’s like my favorite thing to eat, so i won’t give up on it.

    (“why can’t i quit you?”)

  4. Chris never spills but always carries a hanky.
He uses to wipe his sweaty brow.
    Cheers, Camille

  5. You didn’t say spill, you just said what always seems to end up on your clothes…. So what has been on clothes lately is lots and lots of baby pukies.. In fact I currently have a small lake of spit up inside of my camisol that needs attention… Maybe later… Is a pocket square appropriate for spit up?

  6. I live in Utah, so it’s most definitely the ever famous “Fry Sauce” of course. Oh yeah, and kid boogers

  7. I also live in Utah, and the thing that always ends up on my clothes when I eat is is the delicious house dressing that comes with Cafe Rio salads! So delish that I’ve actually considered using my tongue as a stain remover.

Ok, I’m laughing at “rogue condiments” hahaha I ALWAYS spill BBQ sauce on me, without fail. My shirt, my pants, yep and I’ve spilled on my shoes. wtf? The pocket square looks so pink and fancy up there. Awesome!

  9. man, only chicks read your blog now. sorry. no lie, i am a pretty tidy eater most of the time, but the food i end up carrying around with me most often is not ON my clothes, but IN them. when i come home from the movies and get ready for bed, there is always a rain of popcorn when i take my shirt off. i swear i could wear nothing but turtlenecks and fistfulls of errant kernels would still find their way in there.
