My friend Dan emailed me this awesome link the other day to a page on the NASA website where there are links to all of the images that the Apollo 17 astronauts took while documenting the mission. After clicking through about 300 links, I immediately agreed with his statement that “It would be nice to have a viewer of sorts to browse through these.” The images are so amazing, and they are just kind of buried there on the NASA site. So, I thought it would be a good idea to put them all in a site where they could be appreciated for their artistic value. So, since then I have been working on a site that I’m calling “Photographic Art from the Apollo 17 Mission.” It is very far from done. In fact, I have only been able to download about 1/4 of the images, so far. But feel free to take a look. The photography is pretty mind blowing stuff.
Fashion week starts tomorrow. So, I’m going to be pretty slammed for the next week. But hopefully we can meet up again next week (if not before) with some fun images to show for it.

Ya you are a total nerd. Its alright though nerds can be cool too and guess what this is pretty cool. I know I could find myself amazed by these photos for hours. Space is just so interesting!
very cool! Not every nerd gets to go to fashion week- you must not be THAT bad! Enjoy it and good luck!!
This is mind blowing on so many levels. I’ve been trying to come up with a suitably awesome comment all day, but I’m stumped. So there.
P.S. Have a blast shooting Fashion Week! Please get lots of shots of The Return Of the Fanny Pack. I hear DVF and Hermes are “debuting” some nice “hands free handbags.”
Awesome! I’m amazed by those photos!
Oh that is good. For Christmas a few years ago Mike bought me the complete NASA footage from I think Gemini through the shuttle program… He jokes that even though I’m kind of a science documentary junkie-weirdo, I’ve never watched it all. It’s because all those nerds at NASA never got around to making their footage accessable from an aesthetic point of view. They’re not boring people, but they make boring film. So right on, Jake. Right on. For giving those guys a little help.
Why didn’t I think of doing that when I was too stressed out to sleep!! (which is pretty much every night lately). I just lay in bed staring blankly at mind numbing t.v.
