I’m sort of having trouble describing this one. The Like is what the Pipettes wish they were. They dispense their hotness and bada$$ery in sub-three minute doses. It is like the doors meets the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, with a triple shot of estrogen. Amazingly enough, while lacking fancy vocals, The Like is still making out with your ears on every lyric. I think that even women would probably even agree with me on this one. Ok, I am obviously inept at writing anything of substance about The Like. I heard of them on the way to TN last month because Reagan loaded them up on her phone. Her source? A. Chung’s goodie bag at Madewell’s FNO party. Does this make me pathetic? Possibly. Will you dig The Like (if you don’t already)? Definitely (unless you don’t like hot girls making out with your ear). In my defense, I can normally only take Reagan’s girly music in small doses (Regina Spektor, etc.=headache and irritability). In Reagan’s defense, she is a girl and is entitled to listen to as much girly music as she wants to. I had a really tough time choosing a track for this post. But eventually I drilled it down to “Fair Game.” So, check it.

Hahahaha! I’m a longtime fan of The Like, and I do believe you nailed it by describing their music as “hot girls making out with your ears.” I may have also mentioned on your *and* Reagan’s blogs how much I adore their cover of “You Belong To Me.”

I think its pretty safe to say that my taste in music is not very cool. If you look at my pandora stations you will find things like: Fleetwood Mac and George Michael. But I liked this! So maybe there is hope for me after all. 🙂
And I’ve never had a girl make-out with my ear, but I have to admit, I don’t imagine it would be a horrible experience.
