As promised, this week’s LMC is Rihanna. Yes, I’m a fan, despite all of the easily targeted vocal idiosyncrasies. I don’t care, I think that Rihanna is hot, and so is her music. I feel like she is a pretty awesome person, too. There was the whole Chris Brown thing that she was totally cool about. I feel like she could have let that ruin her, but she handled it swimmingly. Reagan and I saw her first live performance after that incident (at the Jay-Z 9-11 “Answer the Call” show), where she was amazing. She has been on SNL twice since then, where her “Shy Ronnie” skits were as genius as her actual live performances. Basically, I think that she is pretty dope. Anyway, here is one of her new singles “What’s my name” featuring Drake. Not much to it, lyrically. But it is loaded with all of that classic Rihanna flavor. If it was summer right now, this track would be as big as “Umbrella.” Check it out, and try not to hate.

hahaha who knew you would be a Rihanna fan?? I didn’t really like her at first but she’s really grown on me. I totally respect her after all that mess she went through and how well she handled it. Very graceful that girl and let’s face it, she’s one of the only ones out there pushing the fashion envelope. So I will take your advice and check out her new song… I need new dance music anyway.
That is the only photo I’ve seen of her with bright red hair that I actually like. (Somehow the paparazzi just can’t get it right.) Hot indeed.
I literally said, “Awesome” when I saw this post. I enjoy your Musica Coolica selections and I love Rhianna too. She isn’t what I would consider my normal genre but she rocks it out. Her voice is amazing. Did you see her on SNL this past weekend? The Shy Ronnie videos are hysterical.

Love her! Already have this tune downloaded on my Ipod and can’t wait for the CD to come out. She deserves all of her success and Chris Brown deserves the demise of his career.
I heard “Cheers” from her CD and it is sooooooo good. Can’t wait to download 🙂
