Piper is still doing pretty much exactly the same as she has been. There have been a few changes, though. Her doctors have taken her off of the paralytic, and are now just relying on the sedation, for when she starts to wake up and get stressed out. Apparently this has been accomplished pretty successfully, without resulting in an increase of de-saturating. It seems to be pretty clear that she is moving in the right direction. We just wish that it was happening a little faster. The doctors decided not to even do an X-ray this morning, since there has been so little change from day to day. Hopefully, after a few days, there will be a marked improvement visible in the X-ray.
Not so much relating to how Piper is currently doing, but toward the future of her care, Reagan and I have been pounding the pavement trying to arrange for another long term place for Piper when she gets better. I think that we may be on to some leads (to the extent that there are any). The problem that we are facing, and have faced from the beginning, is that there is a pretty small list of long term places in the region, that care for vent kids. The ones that do exist are basically full. We are keeping our fingers crossed though.

Prayers for Piper. I hope things come together for finding a long-term place for her.
Sweet piper. You and Reagan are amazing. I can’t imagine how stressful it must be and you always seem to stay positive. Thanks for being good examples.
Keep moving in the right direction Piper. So sorry it is a slow process.
