Help me, please

I’m trying to build a playlist for the Hartford Marathon, coming up on Saturday, and I’m having severe playlist-maker’s block. I feel like I’m kind of burnt out, for the moment on a lot of the stuff that I would traditionally load into my running playlists. So, today instead of sharing a Musica Coolica track, I’m begging for some suggestions. What are some tracks that help motivate you and/or get you amped?

I am open to pretty much anything, at this point. It would be really great to get some stuff that is fresh to my ears. But it is also awesome to be reminded of some good stuff that has somehow slipped through the cracks over the years. So please, please, share with me some fresh new stuff to keep my legs moving fast during my last race of the year, next week. Many thanks in advance.

  1. The Faint “Take me to the hospital” would be a really appropriate one if I ran a marathon. Really though, anything by The Faint would be good.

Rooney “When did your heart go missing?”

  2. @Aubrey: Thanks, Aubrey. Thanks everyone else, too, who emailed, and messaged me on FB. I’m pretty stoked to check out some new stuff.

  3. A couple of my favs are by Santana, one called Jingo and the other Everybody’s Everything. One more I happened across: I Ka Barra from the album Musoko, by Habib Koite and Bamada. Sounds so weird but the music is awesome.

  4. the two songs that really help me are:
Extreme Ways by Moby (the Bourne Identity song, seriously you feel like you can kick some ass)
    and
World’s Greatest by R. Kelly this one is a bit slow but seriously it makes you feel like the world’s greatest.

i always start with World’s Greatest and when I hit a wall or at the end I turn on one of these. Good luck.
