I miss running

During the Olympics last year, New Balance was running this ad quite a bit. I thought it was pretty clever.   I never thought that I would be that guy on the bench. To be honest, I never even thought that I would even become so attached to the sport. I used to think that it was the most boring thing in the world.  But for whatever reason, I have been dreaming about running for like the last 3 nights in a row. I know it sounds nerdy. If you have noticed my little Nike Plus Widget (and hopefully you haven’t), then you will have seen that the last time I went running was in October of last year. Pretty pathetic. In my dreams, I was running outside in awesome weather. So maybe my dreams are just a manifestation of my subconscious missing the warm weather. I can’t believe that is entirely it though. Because this morning, the more that I thought about it, the more that I was almost going stir crazy with the desire to get my Forest Gump, on. I have decided that as soon as the ground clears up enough that I wouldn’t be slipping all over snow and Ice, I’m going to get out and do it. Reag, are you in?

  1. Reagan points out that this story is missing an important detail. The transition from my “running is boring” attitude to “I really like running,” is purely attributable to her. Reagan has always been a good runner, and got me hooked on it.

  2. It may make you feel better to know that I have not gone running in over 2 years.

  3. Hey Jake,

I am with you all the way running is addicting. I never ran a day in my life till April 2008. I went out this morning and did hill training and half mile repeats with some friends to try and get my speed up.

My running group runs on the Jordan River Parkway every Saturday no matter what. I have found that Yaktrax’s help with snow and Ice. I ordered them on this site.
