Friday morning, we paid a visit to Piper, in Westchester County. It was a pretty nice sunny day. We were able to take Piper outside, for the first time ever. Her battery ran out pretty quickly, so it was a short walk, but we got a few pictures first. It was the first time meeting Piper for Sarah, Jessie, Maya and Sophie. Piper was very happy to meet all of them. She even cracked a couple of smiles for Sarah.
During our visit, we also had a meeting with Piper’s doctor. They have decided that since Piper appears to be not quite ready for the trache collar, that it would be a good idea to move her to a longer term facility. There are 2 places that she might go. One is in northern Jersey. The other is in Smithtown Long Island. We are hoping for Jersey, just because Smithtown is so far from us. Anyway, she is continuing to do well on the portable vent. She is still growing, and putting on weight a little at a time.
Go here for more pictures of the visit.

I can’t believe you got to take Piper for a walk outside! That’s fantastic!! I also love the “I’m #1” finger thing she’s got going in the first photo. Glad you had such a fun time visiting with your family. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
