Reagan and I both survived the race last weekend. It was the first time that we had ever run a road race together. We had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Our friends joined us on the adventure, which added to the good times. We drove down on Saturday morning and were able tool around in the city for a while in the afternoon. In the evening, we just took it easy at the hotel and watched some football. PS, way to go MWC this weekend. Utah and BYU still 4-0.
Sunday morning, the race was at 7:45, but it was still pretty warm outside. Luckily there was there was one side of the street that you could find shade, during pretty much the whole race. I feel like I started out pretty strong, but I got a really bad side cramp about half way through. I guess that is what I get for eating like total crap the day before. I was still pretty pleased with my finish. I secretly was trying to keep it under an hour and a half, but I will settle for what I got and try harder next time. Here are pictures from the trip.

Great job, Jake! Looks like a fun weekend.
Nice! I really like Philadelphia–for the grand total of two times I’ve been there. And way to go on your running times. That’s awesome.
Congrats on the race! Looks like fun.
Wow, That is an awesome half marathon time! I am actually jealous. I imagine you will really be ready for the marathon. With any luck you could qualify for Boston!
BTW, I have really been enjoying the good news about Piper. I hope yesterday went well.
