Portable Piper

We had awesome visits with Piper both Saturday and Sunday. She is noticeably bigger and stronger, than just a couple of months ago. It seems like her new feeding schedule has helped reduce the vomiting a bit, since she has reverted to the G-tube from the GJ-tube. Something that is really cool though, is that she has been on the portable ventilator for almost 2 weeks now, without major incident. This means that as soon as Reagan and I are CPR certified, and Piper is no longer on contact isolation, we should be able to take her on walks outside. Can you believe it? It still doesn’t fully seem like reality to me. I’m trying to curb my anticipation a bit, since I have been so sorely disappointed when getting my hopes up about these types of milestones in the past. It really has been nice though to have such a good experience with the facility this time around. Whatever the cause, we’ll take it.
