Memorial Day Weekend

Oh my goodness. It has been such an event filled 2 weeks that I am having a really hard time getting back into the routine of things. We had so much fun while Nate and Melanie were visiting. All of Piper’s birthday activities were a blast too. BTW, here is a post from the Bennions about Piper’s Party. Sunday afternoon we had a picnic with some of our friends in Ft. Tryon Park. Monday we woke up and had another picnic in Ft. Tryon Park, hahahaha. It was such awesome weather all weekend. We broke out the croquet at the picnic on Monday, but ultimately, it ended up being not such a good idea, since it was the ward picnic and the roaming tots tended to interfere quite a bit. Not to mention that croquet mallots can be a dangerous weapon when in the hands of a youngster (speaking from experience). Anyway we ended up playing 500. First with a baseball, then with a football. Reagan go some pretty funny action shots. From the picture below, you would think that she should have gone into sports photography, instead of cosmetology. I have to admit that my shoulder is a little tender today, from all of the throwing.

After all of the shenanigans in the park, Reagan had to lay down at home, because she wasn’t feeling too well (probably from eating so many goodies at the picnic). I took advantage and went to wash the car. There was soda or something on the hood. So it ended up taking them about an hour to get it totally spotless. While I was waiting, I saw some firemen playing patriotic songs with bagpipes and drums. They were all dressed up with kilts and all. It was pretty cool. I also enjoyed being able to be out in the sun during the entire performance (hooray for summer). We finished off the holiday in proper form by having dinner with a bunch of our friends, hosted by Andrea and Paul. It was a lot of tasty food and good fun.
