Dear Jake, How come it is so hard for me to get a gig for my air band? We can totally wail. Seriously. Like we are way better at sweet-A rocker moves and tearin’ up the frets than any of the Metallica wanna be cover bands that I have ever seen. How come its so hard find a place to rock out and get fans?

B, I know what you mean. I would be rich if I had a nickel for every time that I showed up watch an air band, only to find that the devoid of fans. The only ones who show up are the air musicians themselves, and their mom or girlfriend (with occasional dual purpose mom/girlfriend). Some people have taken the cop-out route and played venues like the ones advertised on this site. Those types of shows are just for losers to commiserate, if you ask me. The best way to get fans at your show is to design a really awesome poster and flyer, then post them on boarded up buildings and coffee houses. The more awesome the poster, the more fans will show. You could also make an E-bandposter and post it online. Give it a shot.
