MMMmmmmm Cinnamon

I know it was an intense weekend because I was typing in the title of this post, and for some reason cinnamon looked wrong. I had to spell check it and everything. this is not a recent photo, by the way. I just tried to find one that looked kind of springy, or eastery or something. This was actually last summer, I think in July. Anyway, we had a great holiday weekend. Saturday, I was able to have some decent daddy daughter time with Piper. I hung out with her pretty much all day. She was super cute. When I first got there they had her sitting in her little chair, on the floor next to her crib. As soon as I started talking to her, she started smiling like crazy. I was really cute. Reagan had to work Saturday. It was a good thing that she did, because apparently there were a lot of people who needed haircuts that day. It was good that she was so busy, it makes her really enjoy her job. I picked her up from work Saturday night and we went to Dive Bar, one of our favorite UWS joints for pub food. We especially love their sweet potato fries. Reagan spent the rest of the night making baby blankets for our new little niece (her sister Kelly had a baby, see Reagan’s Blob). Sunday, we had a nice visit with Piper before church, after which, I was able to sneak in a much needed nap before our Easter dinner. Reagan spent that time making two varieties of Potato dishes for the dinner. We got together at the Halls’ home, where they provided the ham and hospitality. The Bennions and Hardies also contributed to the shin dig.

For whatever reason we went to bed really late again, and I was a little punch drunk this morning. Which probably accounts for the fact that I was so entertained by the following incident that I witnessed on the train this morning. I was standing in front of a seated, 26~28 year old, normal looking woman, dressed in business casual. I try not to notice too much what other people are doing on the train, but sometimes, when I forget to bring reading material, I watch by default. Anyway, she opened her purse and took out a pack of cinnamon flavored gum. She opened a stick and started chewing it. I was thinking to myself, “good idea. I wish I would have brought some gum. Not cinnamon though.” About 2 minutes later, she opened her pack again and inserted another piece into her mouth. This time I was thinking “hmmm, I guess that big league chew probably doesn’t come in cinnamon.” About 5 minutes later she spit the red wad into her empty coffee cup and repeated the earlier scenario, until the pack was gone. It was an amazing sight to behold, and the way that I generally like to start off the week. Adios
