This morning Reagan and I had the privilege of attending a funeral mass for Mikey Dryer. Mikey was one of Piper’s crib mates at the Columbia NICU. Reagan became fairly close with Mikey’s mother Patty. We even donated Piper’s little chiffarobe to Mikey when Piper left the NICU. It was a very somber event, even though the service was beautiful. Even Patty (Mikey’s mom) gave some very tender remarks. For some reason it is seems so much sadder, that he was such a little guy, coupled with the fact that this is the second child of theirs that has passed away. One thing that I think Reagan and I both took away from the event, is a renewed appreciation for Piper’s well being. We are so lucky that Piper has been with us as long as she has. Our thoughts go out to the Dryers.
