Piper is ticklish

Last night there was something askew with the A train. I was all excited about leaving work before 6 and then I ended up waiting on the platform for about a year and a half. I finally ended up taking the third C train that came. When we got to 14th, the conductor said that there was an A across the platform, so I elbowed my way out, just in time to see that the A was packed beyond capacity and there was no way I was fitting in. Of course the doors on the C shut before I could get back in. Long story longer, I just missed Reagan and Hillary when I arrived at the hospital to visit Piper. It was ok though because Piper and I were able to have some quality daddy daughter time. Something that has been a little bit scarce in our relationship these days. At first I just did the usual stuff that I know she likes. I brushed her hair, let her touch my face, stuff like that. For some reason I decided to try to tickle her. She loved it! It was so funny. Every time I would tickle a certain spot on her wrist, she would crack up. This was the most I had ever seen her smile. I tried to get a picture, but it was tough, because in order to get her just right, I need two hands. In the picture above, you can kind of get the idea of the faces that she was making though. Needless to say, we had a very fun visit last night.

Piper, fighting off the sandman.

These pics are priceless. It is so hard to get pictures of babies smiling. It took the whole family and all kinds of tricks to get the few we have of Soph. Maya was just looking at the pictures over my shoulder and she said, “Hey, there is Piper and she’s smiling.”

  2. I love it!! I’m glad you got time with her. I’m sure she loves it too.
